| Suitable procedures for the treatment of elastomer surfaces and the characteristics achievable are presented for the practitioner in a concise and comprehensible form. The results achievable with molded parts and seals in elastomers are, among other things, friction reduction, avoidance of sticking and locking, simplified assembly, and improvement of loosening behavior, sealing properties, chemical durability, and achievement of freedom from faults with lacquer wetting. An overview is provided in tabular form with graphical symbols, enabling the practitioner to rapidly locate the most suitable surface treatment procedure to achieve the desired effects. |
