| This catalogue gives a comprehensive overview of high-performance flat gaskets on a graphite base, PTFE and PTFE-sheathed flat gaskets and flat seals based on fibre compound materials and elastomers. An introductory section gives an overview of the available basic materials and their properties. A technical guideline offers information on such matters as the modes of installation to be used with flat gaskets and the physical basis of the seal, and supplies the basic data required for the calculation. The main part of the text contains a detailed account of the various sealing elements, including the key specifications of basic materials, tolerance thresholds, resistance to media and relevant physical data. This gives the designer all the basic knowledge that he requires for selecting and planning the disposition of flat gaskets. The working tool is completed by a comprehensive tabular overview showing the resistance properties of the basic materials NOVAPHIT, NOVAPRESS and NOVATEC, with reference to a great many different media.
