APSOfluid® Compensators
Compensators manufactured in elastomers, PTFE or metallic materials
A compensator is a flexible element, consisting of an elastic bellow and a connection element such as a flange, and is used to compensate thermal expansions, mechanical vibrations, acoustic vibrations and tensions in piping systems, on fittings, pumps and devices. Compensators are also used for noise insulation, as dismantling pieces on pipe fittings, for accommodating assembly inaccuracies and as a seal for pipe wall bushings.
Typical areas of application are heating systems, water pipes, pipes in power plants and in the chemical industry. The various existing qualities are matched to the respective fluids (e.g. drinking water, oil or food).
In order to be able to guarantee certain functions of the expansion joints, such as length limitation or tension, the expansion joints must be installed correctly in the system. There are a number of different length limiters that absorb the corresponding reaction forces, the forces at negative pressure, the freedom of movement of the compensators and the adjustment forces. Our experts are always available to advise you!
Metal compensators and rubber compensators basically perform the same function – whenever thermal or mechanical changes occur in a pipe system, which cannot be absorbed within the system, the changes must be compensated. Taking these factors into account when installing a pipe system is essential to prevent damage and potential failure of the system. Depending on the medium, pressure and temperature as well as the location and type of movement, our specialists can select or design an optimal solution for you.

Typ 49 | The type 49 is a highly corrugated, highly elastic rubber compensator, whose corrugated shape achieves very low inherent resistances. Up to 98% of structure-borne noise is reduced. Furthermore, it is characterized by its high expansion absorption at low installation length and a wide variety of rubber qualities, so that a suitable rubber compound is available for every application. | DN 32 - DN500 | 100 - 110 | EPDM, IIR, NBR, CSM | -40 to +130 | 16 | - According to DIN 4809 / TÜV tested, - FDA - EG 1935/2004 |

Typ 50 | Type 50 is a flat corrugated, highly elastic rubber compensator. Due to its flat corrugated shape, the lowest possible flow resistance is achieved. Up to 70% of the incoming energy is reduced. Furthermore, it is characterised by its high expansion absorption in all directions of movement and a large variety of rubber qualities, so that a suitable rubber compound is available for every application. | DN 20 - DN1000 | 130 - 300 | EPDM, IIR, NBR, CSM, HNBR, BR/NR, PTFE | -40 to +130 | 16 | - According to DIN 4809 / TÜV tested, - FDA - EG 1935/2004 |

Typ 51 & Typ 53 | Type 51/53 is a flat corrugated rubber compensator. Due to its flat corrugated shape, the lowest possible flow resistance is achieved. Up to 70% of incoming energy is reduced. It is also characterised by its high compressive strength. The type 51/53 is produced in four different rubber qualities, so that a suitable rubber compound is available for almost every application. | DN 32 - DN300 | 130 | IIR-D, NBR, CSM, FKM, PTFE | -40 to +130 | 16 | x | x
Typ 55 | Type 55 is a flat corrugated, highly elastic rubber compensator. Due to its flat corrugated shape, the lowest possible flow resistance is achieved. Up to 70% of the incoming energy is reduced. Furthermore, it is characterized by its large expansion absorption in all directions of movement and a variety of rubber qualities, so that a suitable rubber compound is available for almost every application. | DN 20 - DN1000 | 125 - 300 | EPDM, IIR, NBR, CSM, PTFE | -40 to +130 | 16 | - According to DIN 4809 / TÜV tested, - FDA - EG 1935/2004 |

Typ 60 | Type 60 is a pipe connector in solid rubber, without shaft and with vulcanized steel flanges. Due to its straight, shaftless passage a very low flow resistance is achieved. Due to its design, it can only dampen slight surface vibrations and noise, but cannot be used as a compensator to absorb movement. | DN 20 - DN200 | 70 - 90 | EPDM | to +110 | 10 | - According to DIN 4809 / TÜV tested | x | x
Vibration damper 130 | Highly elastic, multi-walled stainless steel bellows element with loose flanges for absorbing vibrations in pipes | DN 40 - DN250 | 130 | 1.4571, 1.4401, 1.4404 | +120 | PN6 - PN16 | - Through hole PN 6 according to DIN EN 1092-1 | x | x | x | x | x | x |
