ARAP Sealing and APVN Sealing

The Angst+Pfister Group expands further its production capabilities with two new facilities in China and Vietnam

ARAP Sealing and APVN Sealing get off to a successful start

The official openings of two new Angst+Pfister Group production companies took place in mid-March with prominent guests and customers: a joint venture with the Argomm Group in China and a fully owned company in Vietnam. Both sites started operations at the end of 2023 and are already operating successfully in their markets. Over the next five years, more than ten million euros will be invested in technology and equipment at each site.

The Angst+Pfister Group has opened two new production sites - as announced last spring. Two state-of-the-art plants in China and Vietnam are expanding the production network. They supply Asian and global companies with sophisticated sealing components. A delegation led by Angst+Pfister CEO Christof Domeisen traveled to the official opening ceremonies in mid-March.

Kick-off with new customers in China

On Monday, March 18, the Chinese ARAP Sealing International - a joint venture company between Angst+Pfister and the Italian Argomm Group - was opened. Together with Ercole Galizzi from the Argomm owning family, Christof Domeisen spoke to the invited guests on site - including representatives of local authorities and the China-Switzerland and China-Italy Chambers of Commerce. Christof Domeisen welcomed the further development of the free trade agreement between China and Switzerland: "We want to help customers here with our innovations and at the same time benefit from the expertise of leading universities and companies in China."

The new plant commenced operations in November 2023 after all approvals had been obtained. The location in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (China) stood out due to its proximity to potential customers and the metropolis of Shanghai. With its first thirty employees, the company immediately gained important Asian automotive and industrial customers and is already implementing series production for them. Numerous customers also joined the celebrations in Changzhou. After a traditional ceremony with a Chinese lion dance, they were given a tour of the new plant.

Vietnam as a hub in Southeast Asia

Just two days later, on Wednesday, March 20, the opening of APVN Sealing took place in the Ho Nai Industrial Park in Biên Hòa City, Vietnam. This location is strategically important for serving customers in Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN). The ceremony was honored by the Swiss Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Werner Bardill, as well as Pham Van Cuong from the Department of Trade and Industry of Dong Nai Province.

Angst+Pfister's Chief Production Officer Eray Ulugül leads the two new plants in Asia. At the opening ceremony, he emphasized: "Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in the world with a very well-educated young generation. We want to be there, but we also want to make a contribution." Important plans are being pursued here. Angst+Pfister founded the company independently and also put it into operation last November. APVN Sealing is also already producing for its first customers in the food industry.

Investment in know-how and polymer processing

ARAP Sealing International and APVN Sealing have already successfully achieved the desired ISO and automotive industry quality certifications. The new plants are currently undergoing all of their customers' standard industry approval procedures. Both companies will soon complete their GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification for the manufacture of food contact products.

By 2028, over ten million euros per site will be invested in machines for injection molding, sorting, deburring, surface coating or cutting as well as testing equipment for product tests. Ultimately, the companies want to set themselves apart with their materials expertise and the processing of various polymer families - and not just in the automotive and food industries. The two new plants are already involved in a promising number of tenders from customers in the chemical, household appliance and industrial tool sectors.
